Warranties and Service Issues

Who stands behind the work on a booking, what Otopair provides, and what to do if something’s wrong.

Who stands behind the work. The shop that did it. Every Partner Shop sets its own warranty terms, and they vary by shop and by job. Some shops offer no warranty. Otopair doesn’t show warranty terms on a shop’s listing, so ask the shop what it offers on your job before the work starts.

What Otopair provides. Not a warranty. We’re the platform, not the repair shop. What we do provide: a written estimate for every booking you make in the app, an itemized receipt and a record of every service, and help if something goes wrong.

If something’s wrong. Tell the shop first. If that doesn’t settle it, open the booking in the app and tap “Something not right?” within 14 days of the final charge. Tell us what happened and add photos if you have them. A person at Otopair reviews the booking’s record — the price you agreed and what you approved — and decides whether a refund is due, in part or in full. If it is, we issue it to the card you paid with. That 14-day window is for our help — it doesn’t limit your rights against the shop, under its warranty, or under the law.

What New York law gives you. A shop that has given you a written estimate can’t charge more than that estimate without your consent. When you book in the app, the price you’re shown is that estimate: the shop can charge up to the top of the range you saw, and anything above it needs your approval in the app first. We record the moment you gave it.
